an essay on health diet and physical fitness

There are two major factors that determine the physical appearance of a person, how they feel and their weight. Diet and exercise is a great mediator in the way person looks, weighs and feels. Your diet will greatly impact on the way you look, the way you approach things and the amount you will be able to do physically. A good balanced diet consists of the five major food groups. No single food can provide all the essential nutrients needed for good health and well being. The five major food groups are: Bread and Cereal, Fruit, Vegetables, Meat and Meat Alternatives and the Milk Group. Bread and Cereal are recommended for six or seven serves per day. Fruit is recommended for two to three serves per day. Vegetables are recommended for four serves per day.

Also to compensate for the fluids lost through perspiration, expiration and urine and faeces we should drink two to three litres of water per day. These ideas may contribute to general health and well-being if put into practice. Exercise will also help you lose weight and have higher self-esteem by burning kilojoules that will inturn make you thinner. Exercise will also work your muscles and make you more flexible and agile. By participating in sport and exercise you develop physical skill and group loyalty.

history of telephone companies

On July 9, 1877, a functional telephone was produced and the Bell Telephone Company became a reality. One year later, Western Union Telegraph Company entered the communications business. Bell then filed a lawsuit for patent infringement against Western Union, and won the case in 1879. When the Bell patent expired in 1893 and 1894, there was a formation of more than 6,000 independent telephone companies.

In 1900, American Telephone and Telegraph (AT&T) was established as the parent company of the Bell Company. AT&T/Bell became a monopoly buying out some of the independent companies and forcing others out of business. In 1877, the federal Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) began regulating communications and setting standards. By 1910, this included all wire and radio communications as well as interstate telephone business. Even with the enactment of the Communications Act of 1934 (An Act to provide for the regulation of interstate and foreign communication by wire or radio, and for other purposes), the FCC became the primar

babies killing babies (Office of The Surgeon General: Youth Violence )

Two teenagers entered a high school in Colorado and opened fire on their classmates. The young gunmen end their lives, but not before taking the lives of fifteen students, and injuring twenty, finalizing the tragedy. In recent years we have experienced a rampage of violence in our schools. Researchers have yet to pinpoint the answer to this plague of violent disorders. The National Institute of Mental Health, and The Office of the Surgeon General have focused their research to the areas of stages of violence development, prevention and intervention, and methods of identifying the most effective treatments.

Studies by the Office of the Surgeon General have concluded that there are two paths for the materialization of youth violence. One is identified at an early age of puberty, the other in the adolescent stage. The research shows that if there is violence demonstrated in the early childhood stage of a child, the degree of violence in the child rises, as the child grows older, concluding in severe violent behavior. The group that is said to be in the early-onset group, or before puberty,

an essay on LIFE STYLE....

In every person’s life there is an event or person who has had a huge effect on the rest of their life, whether or not they know it. One event that has had a major effect on my life was moving from Westchester, NY to Hampton Bays, NY in 2001.

At the start of my tenth grade high school year, I moved from upstate New York down to Long Island. This was the biggest move I had ever made in my life, considering I lived in the same small town for 15 years. Going into tenth grade and having to make all new friends is one of the hardest and scariest things a teen age kid could ever face. First impressions are everything, and the fear of not being accepted because of how you look or how you dress is huge. Also wondering if anyone will let you show them who you really are before they judge you by your cover is a big fear.
